This project involves the replacement or rehabilitation of several bridges and pavement within the IR 77/US 30 interchange in Canton, Ohio. Carpenter Marty Transportation, as a subconsultant to the lead design firm, provided all surveying services for the project. In addition to the typical survey requirements, the project included the high-definition survey (a.k.a. laser scanning) of six mainline bridges and three ramp structures. Upon completion of this work, Carpenter Marty Transportation was tasked with providing monitoring services for the retaining wall along Nimishillen Creek for a period of three years. Static targets were embedded in the wall along with concrete monumentation adjacent to the wall structure and observations were made every three to six months to determine the rate of movement of the wall.
