- Montcalm Bridge Rehabilitation

Carpenter Marty Transportation completed the design and preparation of contract plans, and related documents for rehabilitation of the existing Montcalm Bridge. The bridge carries CR 11 over the Bluestone River in Mercer County. The project site is located 0.03 miles north of WV 71. The existing structure was analyzed for the proposal loading configuration and to obtain loads for bearing design. The existing abutments were also analyzed for conversion to semi-integral. The rehabilitation includes replacing the existing concrete deck, converting the abutments to semi-integral, and providing new approach slabs. The expansion joints at the piers will be removed and the proposed deck will be made continuous using link slab details. One lane of traffic will be maintained on the existing bridge by staged construction. Carpenter Marty Transportation performed all bridge, roadway, right-of-way, and maintenance of traffic design services for this project.
