The Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) introduced the Envision system in 2012. Since then, nearly 5,000 engineering professionals have earned the Envision Sustainability Professional accreditation (ENV SP) and Carpenter Marty Transportation is proud to have one on our staff.
The focus of the Envision rating system is to promote best practices in planning, designing, building, and maintaining public roads, bridges, tunnels, water systems, and other civic entities. The Envision rating system addresses a full range of environmental, social, and economic impacts of a project. Completed projects can be submitted for evaluation in order to be recognized with either bronze, silver, gold or platinum honors. This type of rating system would be equivalent to the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED system in buildings.
The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) November/December issue of Engineering Inc. features a great article about the Envision system and how it is used throughout the industry. Click here to download ACEC’s Engineering Inc., and turn to page 16 to read the article.
Carpenter Marty Transportation reviews projects for methods of reducing the environmental impact and increasing the quality of life for the community near the project area during each stage of the design process. Our team focuses on the latest sustainable infrastructure research and methods. We evaluate and determine the most sustainable infrastructure implementation for a project and present the information for consideration to our clients.
