Emily Traphagen Park Boardwalk

Preservation Parks of Delaware County (PPD) developed designs for new wetlands in their Emily Traphagen Park, near Powell, in Delaware County, Ohio. As part of the design PPD wanted to include trails and boardwalk through the wetlands. PPD engaged CM to provide structural design of the boardwalk. The boardwalk was provided by Wickcraft Boardwalks with CM provided design parameters for helical piles supporting the boardwalk. CM also provided bidding information and shop drawing review during construction. PPD wanted the design and construction completed quickly. CM was engaged by PPD in August of 2022, geotechnical field studies and foundation design were completed early September. The contractor was awarded the project by the end of September. CM turned around shop drawing reviews the same day they were received, and construction began immediately. The boardwalk construction was completed by November 2022 meeting PPD’s goal to complete construction by end of the year.
