Carpenter Marty Transportation is honored to be recognized as one of the top-performing architecture and engineering firms of 2021. PSMJ seeks to highlight firms that are successfully managed and demonstrate outstanding achievements. We are one of only sixty-six A/E firms, nationwide, to receive the 2021 Circle of Excellence award. This year marks our eighth time receiving the award.

The Circle of Excellence award evaluates firms on thirteen key performance metrics, including overhead management, productivity, project performance, profitability, staff growth, and turnover. It is awarded to the top 20 percent of PSMJ’s annual A/E Financial Performance Benchmark Survey firms. “The key differentiator between PSMJ’s Circle of Excellence and other industry awards is that all firms in the A/E industry are eligible. Members are not rewarded for a single outcome such as profit or revenue growth, but on thirteen factors that drive the overall performance of a firm,” says Dave Burstein, P.E., Senior Principal at PSMJ.

Because the award is open to firms of all sizes and locations across the United States and Canada, it encompasses diversity and indicates success is not a result of firm size, office location, or market niche. Firms can become eligible for the Circle of Excellence award by participating in the A/E Financial Performance Benchmark Survey, which opens each January.
